Gracie Cakes Sweetery came to be in the fall of 2011, soon after my family and I made the move from Houston to Huntsville, Texas.

After leaving my job as a reporter at KPRC - Channel 2, I began exploring how to make the amazing cakes that I had been seeing on the hit T.V. shows "Cake Boss" and "Ace of Cakes".

I have two children, so making birthday cakes for them and my husband was great practice.   I soon fell in love with cake decorating and sculpting and decided to start a cake company in order to share my passion with others.

A great company needs a great name.  Since my children are the two special people who have inspired me most in my life, I knew the company name needed to reflect on them.

My daughter's given name is Gracie Kate, but until she was about 3 years old, she thought it was "Gracie Cake".  I added the "s" and often called her "Gracie Cakes".  I couldn't think of a better name for our family business.

My son, Reed, is also very much a part Gracie Cakes Sweetery.  In January 2015, we will be launching a very special product bearing his name.  But for now, we're keeping it a secret!

More about the products:

Gracie Cakes Sweetery is a custom cake company that takes pride in creating one-of-a-kind cakes, cupcakes and cookies to make your next event extra special!

As owner of Gracie Cakes Sweetery, I make sure every cake is created with fresh, top-of-the-line ingredients to insure you will always get a cake that not only looks great, but tastes amazing.

I typically use marshmallow fondant, which I make from scratch.  So, you  will never have to worry about party guests pulling off the fondant and sneaking it in the trash.  This fondant tastes great!

In the event that you want a cake completely covered with black fondant, or a wedding cake with bright white fondant, I use Satin Ice fondant.  The white is brighter than marshmallow fondant, and the black is darker than I am able to create with the marshmallow fondant without adding too much dye.   I have tried several store-bought fondants and Satin Ice is a high quality product that still provides a great taste.

Any cake you can dream up, I would be honored to create it for you!

Thank you for your interest in Gracie Cakes Sweetery!

Amy Barnett

My name is Amy Barnett.  I am currently a one-woman operation on a mission to create amazing one-of-a-kind designer cakes for all of life's special occassions.   No cake is too big or too small.  Everything is made from scratch, even my delicious marshmallow fondant.

I started my business in Houston in 2009, but recently moved to the Huntsville/Conroe area where I am excited about making cakes and cupcakes for clients in Walker and Montgomery Counties.

I take a limited number of cake orders so I am able to spend the time making sure each cake is completed with detail and the personal touches that are important to my clients.

I also create cupcakes, cupcake towers, decorated cookies, cookie bouquets and petit fours.

I proudly serve the  Greater Lake Conroe area: Montgomery, The Woodlands, Conroe, Willis, New Waverly, and Huntsville.

Please try to place your cake order at least 2 weeks before your event.

I look forward to working with you!
